Treasures in Steno

Recently, I zapped into the rerun of "Rudolf Steiner and Anthroposophy" in the Philosophical Hour on SRF Kultur. I heard interesting things from the Rudolf Steiner Archive of the Goetheanum in Dornach.

Rudolf Steiner supposedly had a way of giving his lectures that delighted his listeners. He gave them freely and lively in front of often up to 3,000 people, reported the archive director David Marc Hoffmann in the contribution. There are no recordings by Rudolf Steiner himself, but stenographers wrote down his lectures.

From 1916, Helene Finckh took over this task and stenographed over 3,000 lectures by Rudolf Steiner herself. Later, the transcripts were deciphered and converted into typewritten text for better understanding. These stenographic records today form an important source for Anthroposophy and the work of Rudolf Steiner.

According to David Marc Hoffmann, the entire lecture work of Rudolf Steiner is now available in 350 volumes. And his own task as an archivist is to carefully preserve, maintain and make these records accessible, thus enabling direct access to the thoughts and teachings of Rudolf Steiner.

After this contribution, I wondered whether our Archipanion platform can help to make this lecture work easily and quickly searchable. All without time-consuming deep indexing. I will probably ask Mr. Hoffmann personally how he accesses the treasures in the lecture work.
